Certifications and grades

The organizations make use of the data of LMS to test the skills of the employees and take a decision on their promotion. When the corporate LMS is concerned, then it should provide the information regarding the tracking and completion in form of certifications.

An academic LMS should be able to track the user's progress by the grading system. It must also offer enrollment options when the specific academic years are completed.

Frequency of updates

A corporate LMS requires much more updates than an academic LMS. Because, in corporate training, employees are taught about specific business skills and the changes in the industry. While educational courses are fixed which so less number of updates are required.

Single sign-on

An enterprise learning management system (LMS) should be able to connect to the same authentication system as the rest of your IT infrastructure. Without a Single sign-on (SSO), logging to the LMS becomes difficult. If we talk about the Academic world, then SSO is not of much importance there.
